Forney 140 MIG (309) – pros and cons

Pros

Moreover, it is a welder in the mid amp range (140 amps max) that is ideal for farm & ranch applications, DIY works and smaller metal fabrication jobs. If you combine the Forney 140 with an engine driven welder-generator you can even use it out in the field to repair fences or similar.

The Forney 309 is a machine for wirefed MIG welding, although you can use it for flux cored welding as well. Compared to the other top MIG welder the Forney 140 309 is a reasonably cheap device.

Cons

On the downside, this welder provides limited power. If you are a professional welder, looking for a machine to weld thick steel or aluminum, MIG welders with more power will do a better job for you.
